It was hard saying goodbye to someone like Jeff.

But there was something beautiful about being in a room full of people who loved him unconditionally, and who he loved just as deeply.

There will never be enough words to fully capture the impact he had on so many lives, but every story shared today felt perfect.

Looking around that room, I realized something.

We were all connected because of Jeff.

And I think he did something even more beautiful than any lesson he taught or advice he gave.

He brought the people he loved together one more time and reminded us to celebrate life.

My heart goes out to Mrs. April, his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. But I hope that when they looked around that room, they saw something beautiful too.

Not just the people who came to celebrate Jeff.

But the people who will continue to be there long after today.

The people who loved him.

And the people who will continue loving them.

To Mrs. April, you were his greatest reason.

To his children, you were his proudest accomplishments.

To his grandchildren, you were his greatest rewards.

And to his family and friends, thank you for loving him the way you did and helping shape the man so many of us were fortunate enough to know.

Jeff used to say he wasn’t better than anyone else.

He was just different.

And maybe he was right.

Because even in saying goodbye, he found a way to bring people together.

And if there was one thing that room proved, it’s that he left a lot of people better than he found them.

One last thing.

A lot of us are going to miss the random selfies.

The check-ins.

The accountability.

The messages out of nowhere asking where we’ve been or how we’re doing.

Not because Jeff was keeping score.

Because he cared.

Because he paid attention.

Because he wanted the people he loved to be healthy, successful, and happy.

And knowing Jeff, he’d probably tell us we’ve spent enough time talking about him.

He’d tell us to keep showing up.

Keep taking care of each other.

Keep betting on ourselves.

And then, with a smile on his face, he’d leave us with one final piece of advice:

Get your asses to the gym. 💕
