Sometimes the best local businesses don’t start with a massive building, a corporate plan, or a desire to become the next big thing.
Sometimes they start with a simple idea:
“ What if we could create a place where people actually wanted to spend time together? “
That’s part of what makes Spare Room Events, created by Shauna and Joseph, such a great addition to the Fitness:1440 Lebanon – Member Value Program.
They’ve taken their home-based location and put real time, work, and personality into refurbishing and transforming it into something much more than just another event space. Their goal is to create a local destination where people can step away from the normal routine, get together, laugh, play, celebrate, and make some memories.
And there are a lot of different ways to do exactly that.
Parties, Games, Escape Rooms & More
One of the things that immediately stood out to us about Spare Room Events is the variety.
It isn’t built around just one type of event or one type of customer. Instead, Shauna and Joseph have created
a space that can become something different depending on who’s walking through the door.
Looking for somewhere to host a party? They’ve got you.
Want to get a group of friends together for a game night? That’s right up their alley.
Looking for something a little more interactive? Their escape-room experiences give groups an opportunity to work together, solve problems, and probably find out which friend handles pressure the best (Or the worst).

And that’s something we think Lebanon can always use more of.
Why Businesses Like This Matter
At Fitness:1440 Lebanon, we obviously spend a lot of time talking about physical health. It’s what we do.
But being healthy isn’t only about how much you can lift, how many miles you can run, or how often you make it into the gym.
Having fun matters. Spending time with people matters. Getting out of the house, trying something new, laughing with your family, and actually being present with your friends matters, too.
That’s one of the reasons we wanted to highlight Spare Room Events.
Shauna and Joseph have invested their own time and energy into creating another option for people right here in our community. Rather than having to leave Lebanon every time you’re looking for something different to do, businesses like theirs give us another reason to stay local.
And when we stay local, that support goes right back into our community.
What Our Member Value Program Is Really About
We’ve added quite a few businesses to our Member Value Program, and we want to continue growing it, but the number of businesses involved isn’t really the point.
The relationships are.
We want a Fitness:1440 membership to provide value beyond the four walls of the gym. At the same time, we want to use the community we’ve built here to introduce our members to local businesses they might not otherwise know about.
Our local businesses support our members. Our members support those businesses. And
together, we keep more of that support right here in Lebanon.
There’s no charge for a local business to become one of our Member Value Program partners. We’re not selling advertising space or asking businesses to pay us for referrals.
For us, that’s the whole idea.
